AN INTIMATE WEEK-LONG RESIDENCY IN FLORENCE, ITALY
Florence is not a city to conquer, it’s a city to linger in. Roam & Gather’s week-long residency is designed for those who want to live inside the city, not rush through it.
This journey is intentionally centered in one place. Rather than racing from town to town, we slow down, immersing ourselves in Florence and the surrounding Tuscan countryside with curiosity and care. Our experiences are privately guided and locally rooted. We prioritize intimacy over scale, depth over volume, and time over checklists. This is travel designed to feel human again.
Every aspect of this journey has been curated by Angi to highlight the experiences she treasures most about Florence and Tuscany. From hand-selected guides to unique local experiences, the trip emphasizes authenticity, depth, and connection. You’ll have space to sink in, to notice, and to experience Florence not as a visitor passing through, but as someone temporarily at home.
During our week together, we’ll explore Florence with a trusted local art historian, cook in the home of a Florentine chef, spend an evening in the Chianti countryside, and step inside working artists’ studios.
Everything is hosted, coordinated, and thoughtfully paced so you can focus on presence rather than planning.

Day 1 — Arrival & Welcome
Our time together in Florence begins the Italian way: with aperitivo.
In the early evening, we’ll gather for a relaxed welcome - wine, small bites, and our first moments together as a group. From there, we’ll make our way to a cozy local trattoria for a leisurely dinner, setting the tone for the days ahead and easing into the rhythm of Florence.
Meals included: aperitivo, dinner
Day 2 — Art, Place & Perspective
Today begins with a visit to a personal friend of Angi - an American sculptor who has been living and teaching in Florence for many years. We’ll visit his studio, and get an exclusive look at how centuries of artistic tradition continue to shape contemporary work in the city.
Afterwards, you’l have time to wander, browse, and choose lunch at your own pace.
In the afternoon, we’ll come together again for a private walking tour led by one of Florence’s premier art historians. Through stories detailing the rich history of this city, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of Florence’s medieval and Renaissance roots, and encounter one of the most iconic works of the Renaissance, Michelangelo’s David.
The evening ends with dinner at a beloved local restaurant.
Meals included: breakfast, dinner
Day 3 — Craft & Curiosity
Florence’s artistic lineage extends far beyond its museums. Today, we’ll visit a selection of local artisans’ studios in Florence’s quieter Oltrarno neighborhood, where traditional techniques are kept alive through dedicated, contemporary practice.
The afternoon is intentionally open. Use this time to explore at your own rhythm - linger in a museum, revisit a favorite neighborhood, rest, shop, or follow your curiosity wherever it leads.
Later, those who wish can join Angi for aperitivo at a nearby wine bar. Later, the entire group will gather for a relaxed, candlelit dinner in this charming part of the city.
Meals included: breakfast, dinner
Day 4 — Into the Tuscan Countryside
Today we leave the city behind and head into the rolling hills of Chianti for a privately guided wine tasting experience.
We’ll spend the day tasting wine and seasonal food from small, local producers and exploring one of Tuscany’s beautiful hill towns with time to wander on your own.
The day concludes with a farm-to-table dinner, shared in a quiet rural setting.
Meals included: breakfast, dinner
Day 5 — A Day for You
Today is entirely yours.
You might choose to explore Florence more deeply, take a slow morning, visit a museum or garden, or venture further afield on a day trip. This pause is intentional, an opportunity to follow your own interests and reflect on everything you’ve experienced so far.
Meals included: breakfast
Day 6 — Senses, Stories & Shared Tables
On our final full day, we’ll reconnect with our guide for a sensory-led exploration of Santa Croce Basilica and lesser-known corners of the city. This experience invites you to notice Florence in a new way - through sound, texture, and atmosphere.
The afternoon is open for you to make any final visits to where your curiosity leads you.
In the evening, we’ll gather for our farewell experience: a private pasta-making class in the home of a Florentine chef. In her kitchen, we’ll cook together, sip prosecco, listen to music, and end the week with an intimate, candlelit dinner made by our own hands.
Meals included: breakfast, dinner
Day 7 — Departure
This morning, we say goodbye, for now.
After breakfast, you’ll check out and continue onward, whether back home or deeper into Italy, carrying new memories, meaningful connections, and a sense of expansion to take with you.
