PLANNING SERVICES
Thoughtfully Designed Slow Travel
Travel advising and bespoke journey design for travelers who value slow travel, rich cultural experiences, and a deeper connection with place.
Roam & Gather travel planning is grounded in a simple belief: time is the real luxury. As a slow travel planner, my approach centers on intentional travel - journeys with space to wander, linger, and connect with a place. Rather than packed schedules and checklists, I design custom travel itineraries that prioritize depth, atmosphere, and meaningful cultural experiences.
Whether you’re planning a one-week escape or a ten-month journey, I can help you create an experience that feels unhurried, meaningful, and deeply connected to place. Slow travel isn’t defined by the length of a trip, but by the spirit in which it’s experienced. In short, slow travel is a mindset.
This approach resonates especially with curious, independent travelers who enjoy exploring deeply while still having a thoughtful framework for their journey.
I offer two ways to work together, depending on the level of support you’re looking for. In both cases, you maintain full control of your reservations while benefiting from experienced guidance and curated recommendations.
What is Slow Travel?
Slow travel is about experiencing a place deeply rather than trying to see everything. Instead of rushing between attractions, it prioritizes time to wander neighborhoods, linger in cafés, revisit places that feel special, and connect with the culture of a destination. With slow travel, the goal isn’t to check off more sights, it’s to experience a place well.
Why I Do This Work
Travel has always been more than a series of checklists for me, it’s a way of paying attention as I move through the world. Over the years, I’ve come to believe that the most meaningful journeys are rarely the busiest ones. They’re the ones that leave space to notice a neighborhood café, linger in a museum, connect with locals, or return to the same place twice simply because it felt good to be there.
Slow travel allows us to experience destinations more thoughtfully while supporting local communities and the small businesses that give them life. I design journeys this way because I believe travel should leave both the traveler and the place a little richer.
Designing slow travel itineraries for others allows me to help create the kind of journeys that I love most, and that encourage others to experience the beauty and richness that comes from traveling with more intention.
Travel Advising
Thoughtful advising for travelers who value slowness, culture, and ease.
This private consultation is designed to help you clarify your ideas, shape your slow travel itinerary, and move forward in your planning with a sense of confidence. You don’t need to have everything figured out before our conversation. Many clients arrive with only a rough idea and leave with clarity and direction.
What We’ll Explore
During our 75-minute consultation, we may discuss things like:
• Choosing the right destination, or refining one you're considering
• Structuring your trip for a slower, more nourishing pace
• Cultural, food, art, and experiential priorities
• Where to simplify and where to splurge
• What not to plan
Following our conversation, you'll receive a written summary with curated recommendations to guide your next steps.
Travel guidance is ideal for travelers who enjoy planning their own trips but want expert direction. If you’d prefer not to spend hours researching and comparing options, Signature Travel Design may be the better fit.
Signature Travel Design
Bespoke itinerary design for travelers who value depth, atmosphere, and a thoughtful pace of travel
Signature Travel Design is a collaborative process that transforms your travel ideas into a thoughtfully designed journey. After learning about how you like to experience a place, I craft a personalized itinerary that balances meaningful experiences with space to wander and discover.
After learning about your travel style and priorities and a conversation, I design a personalized slow travel itinerary that reflects your interests, pace, and sense of place. You’ll receive a curated, personalized guide with recommendations and a clear structure for your trip, while you handle bookings directly.
This service covers one primary destination for trips up to 10 nights, with expansion options available upon request. Most clients begin planning their journey two to four months before travel. Designing a thoughtful journey takes time, curiosity, and careful research. For this reason, I only work with a limited number of design clients each month.
How we’ll work together
Getting Started
You’ll begin by completing a short intake form so I can understand your travel style, interests, and priorities for the trip.
Our Planning Conversation
We’ll meet for a 60-minute call to talk through your ideas, clarify the vision for the journey, and discuss pacing, neighborhoods, and experiences that would make the trip meaningful for you.
Designing Your Journey
Using what I’ve learned, I create a personalized itinerary with thoughtfully curated accommodations, experiences, and a suggested rhythm for your days.
Review & Refining the Plan
You’ll receive your draft itinerary and have the opportunity to request one round of revisions before finalizing your travel guide. It’s at this point you’ll also select your preferred accommodations and experiences.
Reservations
After the itinerary is completed, you'll inform me of your selections and begin booking your accommodations and experiences using the curated recommendations and links I’ve provided.
Your Journey Design Guide
Once everything is finalized, you’ll receive your beautifully organized digital travel guide with all of your recommendations, notes, and booking details in one place.
Pre-Departure Check-In
Before your trip, we’ll connect one more time to review the plan, answer questions, and make sure you feel fully prepared for the journey.

FAQs
What’s the difference between Travel Advising and Signature Travel Design?
Travel Advising is a private conversation designed to help you clarify your ideas and move forward with confidence. During this session, we’ll talk through destinations, pacing, neighborhoods, and experiences so you can continue planning your trip with expert guidance.
Signature Travel Design is a more in-depth service. After learning about your travel style and priorities, I design a personalized travel plan with curated accommodations, experiences, and a thoughtfully paced itinerary. You’ll receive a beautifully organized travel guide and make your reservations using the recommendations provided.
In short, Travel Advising offers expert guidance to help you plan your own trip, while Signature Travel Design provides a fully designed journey created around your interests and pace.
Can you help with destinations anywhere in the world?
Yes. While many clients travel to Europe and other culturally rich cities around the world, I design journeys for destinations globally. The focus is always on places that lend themselves to slow travel, cultural exploration, and meaningful experiences.
Do you book accommodations or experiences for clients?
Roam & Gather provides travel advising and journey design services rather than booking services. I curate accommodations, experiences, and a thoughtfully structured itinerary, and you make your reservations directly using the recommendations and links provided. This approach gives you full control over your bookings while still benefiting from expert guidance and thoughtful planning.
When should I start the Signature Travel Design process?
Ideally, the journey design process begins two to four months before your trip, especially for destinations with high demand for accommodations or experiences. However, shorter planning windows are sometimes possible depending on the destination and time of year.
How much involvement will I have in the planning process?
The Signature Travel Design process is collaborative. After completing your Journey Profile and planning conversation, I design your itinerary and present a draft plan for review. You’ll have the opportunity to make one round of revisions. You’ll then make reservations directly using the recommendations provided, and the final travel guide is created.
How many revisions are included in the journey design process?
Signature Travel Design includes one round of revisions after you receive your draft itinerary. This allows us to refine the plan once you’ve reviewed the recommendations and selected your preferred accommodations and experiences.
The goal is to design a thoughtful, well-considered journey from the beginning, so most clients find that only minor adjustments are needed. If significant changes to the destination, dates, or scope of the trip are requested after the design process has begun, an additional design fee may apply.
Do you offer last-minute or emergency planning?
No. Roam & Gather planning is not designed for last-minute requests.
Do you plan group trips or only individual journeys?
Roam & Gather primarily designs personalized journeys for solo travelers, couples, and small groups traveling together who want a thoughtfully planned itinerary created around their interests and pace.
I also lead small, hosted journeys through Roam & Gather. These trips are different from the journey design service - they are carefully curated group experiences where I travel with the group and guide the journey in person.
If you’re interested in organizing a private group trip that I would lead, please feel free to get in touch to discuss the possibilities.
